When we started out as Energy Ease there was huge demand for solar equipment. Since then, our customers have been getting wise to the benefits of all sorts of smart and energy-efficiency equipment. So we’ve changed our name to Smart Ease.

With his passion for nature and belief that businesses are key to solving social and environmental challenges, Guy is the driving force behind Smart Ease. He has a broad view and detailed knowledge of the financial services sector and how it can impact the uptake of clean and smart technologies.
Before founding Smart Ease in 2014, Guy established a number of companies including Cleaner Climate, a carbon offset provider for ANZ and Flight Centre. He was also part of the founding team at myrate.com.au, one of Australia’s largest online mortgage lenders. Guy is a Director of specialist PPA business, Green Peak Energy and of Cool.org, one of the largest providers of education resources to teachers.
Thanks to his 20+ years’ experience in credit and environmental markets, our partners and their customers benefit from an exceptional level of service and support from the Smart Ease platform and team.
With 25 years’ experience in financial services, Rob has worked for banks and global corporates developing finance channels to serve businesses and their customers. In 2014, he joined Guy to set up Smart Ease to enhance access to funding for solar and smart equipment.
Rob is a razor-sharp equipment funding expert with a strong commitment to serving businesses and communities. He and his family have strong links to Fitzroy Crossing in WA which gives him a deep understanding of the risks communities like this face due to Australia’s climate challenge.
In his role as COO, Rob brings deep knowledge of the complex world of funding and a thorough approach to solution design. He dedicates his energy, skill and experience to continually refining and improving the Smart Ease experience, making sure every aspect of our whole operation is aligned with best-practice.
Stefanie Di Trocchio
As our marketing aficionado, Stef is a trusted expert in bringing the Smart Ease brand to life for our partners, clients and the broader community. She has a passion for results-focussed communication in all its forms and a commitment to supporting businesses with strategies that positively impact people’s lives and the environment.
Drawing on her experience in a broad mix of marketing and digital roles for the likes of MYOB, Origin and Lonely Planet, she understands how Smart Ease is uniquely placed to transform the market for energy-efficiency and smart equipment.
Having spent over 25 years in the industry, Assunta is widely known as a trusted equipment-funding professional. She’s worked with GE Capital, Macquarie and the major banks.
Radiating positive energy, she uses her client-management skills and strategic edge to build strong relationships – with every channel partner. Assunta is a force and really exemplifies Smart Ease’s customer-centric, ‘solutionary’ ethos.
With a well-rounded background in sales and marketing, Alex understands how to support channel partners so they can achieve their business goals. He is astute, proactive and applies his business nous to establish great rapport with each channel partner.
Alex is particularly proud to support businesses in gaining access to technologies that reduce their carbon emissions.
Wendy’s excellent reputation as a solution-focused business development manager precedes her. Her blend of intelligence, tenacity and good humour is what underpins her relationships with channel partners and colleagues alike.
With a wealth of industry experience in hospitality, facilities and waste management, Wendy brings strong business acumen to the team. She loves that her work aligns with own environmental commitments.
Having worked in senior sales roles across both commercial and residential markets in New Zealand, Gaige brings a depth of solar and smart-tech industry experience. He is a problem solver and full of positivity, which enables him to forge great relationships with our Smart Ease channel partners.
Outside of work, Gaige is passionate about helping first-nation communities overcome energy hardship and achieve sustainable outcomes through access to energy technologies.
For over 20 years Lisa has honed her expertise in equipment funding. She’s worked as an internal account manager for some of the biggest names in the industry, including Esanda Finance, DLL and Thorn.
Working for Smart Ease, Lisa makes sure that the operations team provide our channel partners and their clients with responsive and outstanding customer service. She takes care that each and every transaction is handled with the greatest of efficiency and accuracy.
Straight from the shores of Ireland, Amy is known for her expertise in risk, process and organisational management. Having honed her skills at PayPal, Amy possesses an eye for detail that’s hard to beat.
At Smart Ease, she works closely with our Account Managers to support channel partners end-to-end.
She makes sure our processes meet the highest possible standards and that our team is trained to always deliver the best customer service.
A customer service pro, Rho is all about getting the right outcome for our channel partners and business customers. She works tenaciously across operational aspects of Smart Ease transactions to make sure applications, payments and settlement progress without a hitch.

Maxwell is a true customer service expert having honed his skills in the tech and music industries over the past decade.
Now at Smart Ease, he is a core member of our Operations team, responsible for ensuring the customer experience of businesses signing up for Payment Plans is straight-forward and easy. Switched-on, sharp-witted and creative, Maxwell straddles the balance of being professional and yet very human – which is at the core of our Smart Ease values.
